Dive Saint Helena is a family business run by Craig and Keith Yon since early 2010.
Craig is a PADI master scuba dive trainer and together they have been sharing their dive experiences with both local and international visitors.
Craig is the founder and co-owner of Dive Saint Helena, which is a family run business operating on Jamestown wharf. “This is a home-grown family run business, whereby I was encouraged to pursue by my late father.”
Craig has been diving on St Helena for over 15 years, clocking up thousands of dives and when he gets a little underwater time to himself he really enjoys playing with his camera and deep diving! Craig gained his Dive master in Capetown in 2009 and became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT 306289) in march 2013.
Craig is heavily involved in supporting the conservation work of the St Helena Government Marine Section, St Helena National Trust Marine Team (linked to the UK Blue Marine Foundation) and Georgia Aquarium, who are leading on the whale shark research and tagging programme around the island.
Craig is a highly experienced boat coxswain, holding a SAMSA Sea Rescue Dive Boat Coxswain qualification, and he is an active sea rescue Diver/Coxswain for the St Helena Sea Rescue Service.
Keith who is a PADI Divemaster and along with Craig offers hundreds of hours of in-depth knowledge and experience of diving and fishing around St Helena waters.
When Keith is not diving and skippering marine tours he maintains and services the fleet of boats along with making sure all routine and sea checks are completed on the equipment.
Keith also takes care of the refuelling of visiting yachts and any other marine services needed around the Jamestown harbour, whenever there is an emergency Keith is always on call as he forms part of the team that operates the St Helena rescue service.

Graham Sim – an Instructor and the father of scuba diving on St Helena, who played a big part in training. Craig and many others on the Island, Graham who knows every cove and dive location around St Helena has clocked up “at least 5000 dives.
Leigh who is from the UK is our registered Divemaster. Leigh has been diving for nearly 20 years, in over 30 countries, including recent trips to Ascension Island and Mauritius.
Leigh trained as a Divemaster on an internship in Scotland with Deep Blue Scuba and has also worked as a DM in the Sultanate of Oman for 3 years. He holds BSAC Dive Leader, PADI Master Scuba Diver, Enriched Air Diver, Seasearch Surveyor and RYA Advanced Powerboat qualifications.
Leigh is passionate about diving and he is also a passionate marine conservationist. He works for the Blue Marine Foundation based on St Helena, and is a trustee of the UK Marine Conservation Society.
Jamie Ellick (‘Dubbs’) – our Divemaster in training,
Jamie has been scuba diving, fishing and boat handling around St Helena since the age of 16 and he is passionate about the ocean around his island.
Jamie works for the Marine Section of the St Helena National Trust and through his work is involved in a range of marine conservation activities, including fish tagging, dive surveying education & outreach and monitoring marine plastics and debris.
